Practical Australian actions

What this site collects, and what it does not

We collect enquiry details you type into the contact form and ordinary hosting logs. We do not sell a marketing list and we do not run a government register.

At a glance

FormName, email, message

Delivered by FormSubmit to the editorial inbox.

HostingTechnical logs

The host may store IP, user-agent and requested paths.

MarketingNo list from this form

Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter.

Official dataNot us

Rebate or bin applications belong on government sites.

Home / Privacy

This privacy page applies to ecoaction.com.au, an independent editorial website. It is not a privacy policy for DCCEEW, a state EPA, a council, FormSubmit as a whole, or Vercel as a whole. Those organisations publish their own notices. Last updated 22 October 2026.

Answer first

If you only browse, we do not ask for your name. If you send the contact form, we receive the fields you complete so we can reply. If you want that correspondence deleted, write from the same email address and say so.

Information you give us

The contact form collects a name, email address, topic and message. A hidden honeypot field is present to discourage bots; people should leave it empty. Do not send payment-card numbers, government identifiers, health records or passwords. The form is not designed for that material and we do not want it.

We use the information to reply to the enquiry and to correct the site when you have sent a source. We do not sell the list. We do not add you to a newsletter because this rebuild does not operate one.

Information processed in transit and on hosts

The form is sent with FormSubmit’s AJAX endpoint. FormSubmit’s privacy statement governs their processing. The editorial inbox is a Gmail address; Google’s terms govern that inbox. The website is deployed on Vercel; Vercel’s notices govern server logs, which may include IP address, approximate location derived by the platform, user-agent, and the path you requested.

We do not embed a third-party advertising pixel on this rebuild. If that ever changes, this page will change first.

Cookies and local storage

The public pages do not depend on an analytics cookie. The Keystatic admin interface, if used in development, may store local editor state. Ordinary visitors do not need that interface.

Children

This is a general-information site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the form for a school project. Teachers should use a staff email if they write about a campus issue.

Retention

Enquiry emails are kept as long as the correspondence remains useful for a correction trail, then deleted in the ordinary course of inbox management. We will not invent a numeric retention period we do not actually run as a formal program.

Access and deletion

Australian readers may have rights under the Privacy Act depending on whether an APP entity threshold applies. Regardless of that legal analysis, you can ask what we hold about your enquiry and ask us to delete the email. Use the editorial address. We may need to confirm you are the person who wrote.

Third-party pages we link

Your Home, Energy Rating, Water Rating, DCCEEW, state EPAs, councils and Recycling Near You are separate sites. Their cookies and forms are theirs. Leaving this domain is leaving this notice.

Changes

If the form endpoint, inbox or hosting stack changes, we will update this page and the date line. The footer disclaimer still applies: this content is general information, not professional advice.

Parking-era privacy.html on this domain pointed at an unrelated parking vendor. That document is not this policy. The old path 301s here.

Questions people ask first

Does sending the form subscribe me to email marketing?

No. The contact form is for editorial enquiries only.

Who processes the form?

FormSubmit delivers the message to callum.sherwood.seo@gmail.com. Their terms apply in transit.

How do I ask for a message to be deleted?

Email the editorial address from the same account and name the date you wrote.

Questions about a page, not about ads

Use the contact form for corrections. Use this policy to understand the form itself.
