They provide computers from their premises in Charnwood, as well as being involved in local and overseas projects in line with their ethos.

Non-working computers, after being stripped for parts, are sent to Sequel Surplus in Melbourne for recycling in Australia or overseas. While plastic is currently not recycled, Charity Computers have a no landfill goal which they are working towards.

This includes desktops, notebooks, storage, networking, monitors, printers, projectors, and computer peripherals such as keyboards and mice.

Reusable products that still have market value are refurbished and resold. The buy back system returns any monetary value gained through recycling this equipment via rebate vouchers to be redeemed for cash against any Dell products (according to their terms and conditions). They offer data security for computers that are to be resold.

Recycling for equipment with no resale value is done in Australia through MRI. With recycling centres in Melbourne and Sydney, and using Australian-designed recycling systems, Dell and MRI are active in helping divert e-waste from landfill and illegal overseas export.

The cost of recycling is $10 pick-up fee, plus $13 per unit in metro areas or $15.50 in non-metro areas. (Drop off at the drop off points is $8.50 per unit). A PC with monitor is 2 units.
