The Art of Moving
The Art of Moving is a joint project between the Canberra Environment Centre, The ANU School of Art and ANUgreen and is funded by Healthpact. The project aims to bring together members of the Canberra community to produce creative and informative works of art that focus on the health implications of our transport choices.
‘Experts’ in the field of health, active transport, urban design and education will brief ‘cultural practitioners’ (visual artists, creative writers, dancers, playwrights, school children etc), providing information and inspiration for the creation of works of art. These works of art will be displayed in a variety of places such as on buses, in car parks, galleries, cafes and school halls.
The artwork will aim to both inform and motivate community to partake in healthy active transportation. The artwork will act as both affirmatory and transformatory aesthetic statements.
If you or your organisation would like to be involved in the project (as either an expert or a cultural practioner), we'd love to hear from you.
This project is currently in its initial stages, so keep an eye on this website for further details of how you can get involved.
