Sustainability in the Workplace

A sustainability, education and resource project for environmental managers in the ACT and surrounding region.

 
The Canberra Environment & Sustainability Resource Centre completed a series of workshops and seminars for environmental managers in 2006 and 2007, addressing the issues of:

• Power and green buildings
  

• Waste

• Water and Transport

• Fostering a culture of change
  

These issues are of increasing importance in businesses, offices, industries, institutions and government departments, but there is little coordination in developing a systemic means of tackling the issues.

This program aimed to assist environmental and sustainability managers in workplaces to assess the extent of the issue in their situation, and to develop, in conjunction with other environmental managers, effective and long-term plans for workplace sustainability.

For now the series has been completed, though there are mutterings of running similar programs in the future. If you are interested, please contact the Centre or check back every now and then for more up to date news.
