Wonga Wetland Project: Albury
In the mid-1990s, the Albury City Council, after consultation with communities downstream along the Murray, undertook a project to recycle 100% of Albury's wastewater into the rehabilitation of a wetland that had been destroyed after the Hume Dam was built in 1919. The result is the Wonga Wetland Project. This is an example of sustainable water resource management that could be applied to any scale.
